Communication skills for assertiveness (for medical practitioners)

Audience:
Medical practitioners wanting to develop greater confidence in being assertive

Assertively expressing our thoughts and needs in way that demonstrates our respect for others, is an essential skill for building effective relationships.

This is particularly true for the workplace where non-assertive behaviour can negatively impact on confidence levels, satisfaction and performance.

In this course, participants will learn to think and act more assertively and use different patterns of behaviour to more effectively interact with clients, colleagues and within their personal relationships.

Content: • Developing effective communication skills that build rapport and cooperation
• Using body language to create credible and persuasive first impressions
• Delivering assertive messages
• Handling difficult situations confidently and assertively
• Managing yours and others aggressive behaviour
• Applying assertiveness skills in the workplace
Location: AMA House, 293 Royal Parade, Parkville
Fee: $150 for AMA members
$200 for non AMA members
